It’s worth checking out. The lifetime cost is cheap compared to other apps. I use the keyboard shortcuts to navigate the app without touching the mouse. 

The sidebar features word count, table of contents, backlinks, tags, sentences, and paragraphs. This has been helpful when writing my blog. Upnote also supports markdown. One of my favourite features is collapsible sections for blocking my learning into topic areas. 

The backup and history revision helped me restore a previous thought/idea I deleted and then wanted to retain. Split screen is available as well as password protection.
